Alleged Data Breach Hits at West Visayas State University

https://the-post-assets.sgp1.digitaloceanspaces.com/2021/09/WESTERN-Visayas-State-University.jpg Iloilo City, Philippines – A cybersecurity breach has allegedly compromised the database of West Visayas State University (WVSU), exposing sensitive information of students, faculty, and other stakeholders. A hacker using the alias “7h3_Er4s3r” has taken responsibility for the attack, sharing screenshots that appear to confirm unauthorized access to WVSU’s systems. The leaked images indicate that the hacker gained entry into multiple databases, including those labeled “WVSU_MAIN_Campus_DB_00” and “WVSUfiles”, suggesting that academic records, personal data, and administrative documents may have been exposed. https://iili.io/39NJBAN.jpg Another screenshot reveals a list of user accounts, complete with full names, usernames, email addresses, IP addresses, and timestamps. Deep Web Konek was notified about the breach and is currently assessing the situation. Our team has also notified the West Visayas State University's IT Department about the breach.
