The Philippine Statistics Authority’s Augmented System for Travel Information using GIS Technology (PSA-ASTIG Tech) has allegedly been compromised by the threat actor Philippine CyberMafia, according to an initial investigation by Deep Web Konek (DWK).
DWK was notified about the potential breach yesterday, February 10 and immediately launched an investigation to determine the extent of the compromise. Initial findings indicate that selected employees handling the system's personal information were compromised, but no personally identifiable information (PII) of the public was included in the breach.

The compromised database, labeled "geo_map", appears to contain geographical mapping data, including:
• Regional, provincial, municipal, and barangay-level information
• Geographical codes, names, and coordinates
The breach affects approximately 41,580 records, which could be exploited for cyber espionage, phishing, or further attacks on government infrastructure.
Upon confirming unauthorized access, our team immediately alerted the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) and the Philippine Statistics Authority. Both agencies have since launched their own investigations to assess the full impact of the breach.
The Philippine CyberMafia has been linked to multiple cyber incidents targeting Philippine government agencies and private institutions last year.
