Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology Allegedly Breached; Threat Actor Claims Exposure of 81,000 Students' Personal Information

Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology (NEUST) has been named in an alleged data breach announcement published on a dark web forum on November 5, 2026, by a forum user operating under the alias “imken.” In the post, the threat actor claimed to have compromised the university's security and alleged that personal information belonging to more than 81,000 students had been exposed. The allegedly compromised information includes students' full names, home addresses, contact numbers, birthdates, parents' names, and academic records. The publication accuses the university of failing to adequately protect student information and presents the alleged incident as a broader statement against institutions that collect and maintain personal data. The announcement was also accompanied by messaging referencing the Million Mask March, observed on November 5, alongside slogans associated with hacktivist movements. NEUST has yet to be independently confirmed as having acknowledged the incident.
